Harvey Seifter

Biography

Widely recognized as a leader in innovation and arts-based learning, Harvey Seifter provides a global network of institutional clients with targeted training programs to encourage creativity in the workplace, the classroom, and elsewhere. For more than 15 years, Mr. Seifter has led New York’s Seifter Associates in delivering cutting-edge creative consulting services to clients in all sectors of business, including technology, pharmaceuticals, finance, automotive manufacturing, and education. To help leading organizations stay on the forefront of innovation, Harvey Seifter and his colleagues have implemented arts-based learning programs toward the development of new products; assisted cultural organizations in identifying new ways to educate the public; and given executive and senior management professionals the tools to lead creatively.

In tandem with this work, Mr. Seifter serves as Director and Principal Investigator of the Art of Science Learning, a National Science Foundation-funded project that seeks greater cohesion between arts and science education in American schools. With a mission to prepare the next generation of innovators for success in the global marketplace, Harvey Seifter and the Art of Science Learning have hosted a series of conferences to promote its educational initiatives, among other events and projects. A Senior Fellow at the Learning Worlds Institute as well, Mr. Seifter has written about his work with the National Science Foundation in Leader to Leader Magazine and was recently featured in The Huffington Post.

Harvey Seifter formerly served as Executive Director of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the sole orchestra in the world that rehearses and performs without a conductor. He recounts his involvement with Orpheus in his book, Leadership Ensemble: Lessons in Collaborative Management from the World’s Only Conductorless Orchestra.
